At New Square we are always looking at new ways to reduce the impact on the world and understand how important sustainability is to improve the quality of our lives in the future. Below are some of the ways the centre is currently implementing to become more sustainable.
Many of the stores at New Square have procedures in place to be more sustainable, from reducing their carbon footprint to making products out of more sustainable materials to limiting the amount of single use plastics. Stocks a range of clothing made from responsibly sourced cotton- look out for ‘Responsibly sourced cotton’ tags when you’re next in store. The brand has also replaced all new gifts cards with card copies instead of their plastic predecessors, and is actively trying to reduce the amount of plastic used in deliveries of new stock.
Through their ‘sell your shoes’ scheme you can hand in any unwanted shoes at Schuh to receive a £5 off voucher a full price item!
Partners with Refill UK to provide free drinking water to the increasing number of customers wishing to refill their own bottles. They also stock refillable cups to reduce single use cups.
Enable customers to recycle a bag of unwanted clothing in store, from any brand in return for a £5 voucher as part of a sustainable fashion initiative.
Have a partnership with UNICEF and participate in Shoeshare which involves donating your old or unwanted shoes this helps them build sustainable classrooms for children in Africa.
